僕は、人として大切なことを、大声ではなく切々と静かに、僕らに語りかける大林宣彦監督とその作品が大好きです。
この映画では、そういうスタイルは取ってないそうですが、久々に映画館で見たいと思わせる映画です。
09年に、新潟県長岡市の風物詩である花火大会を大林監督が初めて見たことで生まれた映画です。
この花火大会は、単なる観光イベントではなく太平洋戦争末期の1945年8月1日夜、米軍の空襲による1400人以上の犠牲者の追悼の意味があるそうです。

「花火は光と音、爆弾と同じだから恐ろしくて嫌い」と語る、背中に背負った長女を空襲で亡くした七里アイさん。
彼女は、語り部としてあの戦争を伝えていた。
彼女をモデルとした老婦人・富司純子も登場し、七里アイさんは、昨夏の撮影に立ち会い、方言指導もなさったそうです。
が、今年の3月、87歳で永眠されたようです。
御冥福をお祈り致します。
映画は、04年の中越地震、そして、東日本大震災をも織り込むようです。
明日2012年6月23日（土）、公開。
どのような映画になっているか、とても楽しみです。
と、同時に、七里アイさんのような戦争を知っている世代がいなくなり、戦争をゲームかおもちゃのように、頭の中での空論でしか認識していない勇ましい世代が中心となった時の日本のことを考えると、とても恐ろしいです。
少なくとも、僕ら40代の少年時代には、戦争が引きずられており、ある種の感覚としても認知していたと思うのですが。
ま、難しいことを考えずに、大林宣彦監督の作品世界に浸りたいと思います。
